LinkedIn is a jungle. There are so many people out there trying to “hook up” to get clients. It’s worse than when I was with my friends at the club when I was 20. There are people who do it badly, others who do it. Worse and then there are a few who do it really well.
Thinking about it, it would be a good idea to describe how the perfect approach would be to get me cold. It doesn’t matter if it’s LinkedIn or any other channel.
Be respectful of the form of contact
I don’t like it when you call me or write me an email without knowing anything about you. I’ve been using calls since the days when transporters used to call me on my mobile to make deliveries, and since I live in Germany I hardly pick up the phone. I also don’t like it when you write me an email taking advantage of the fact that we are LinkedIn contacts.
